A Passionate History
My grandfather was a watchmaker and a jeweler.
I can remember as a young dude following him around like his shadow — or so my mom joked. Although I didn’t realize what he was doing at the time, I’d see him at his workbench with his Bosch & Lomb eyeglass loupe attached to his glasses. So now I joke that the love of watches is in my DNA.
I can recall the first time I saw a vintage dive gauge. It was in 2018 when I purchased my first Aquastar 63. The watch was flawless and complete with original Tropic basketweave rubber strap and JeanRichard anvil buckle. But there was something else, something I had never seen before; strapped onto the long tail of the Tropic strap was a small button-sized “Aquastar” branded thermometer!
I never looked back. I immediately started Googling which led to countless hours of reading, research, and Instagram DMs. I hope my site is beneficial and provides you with opportunities to learn more about the world around the watches we love!
Explore Exclusive Vintage
Watches are complex and unique pieces of art. The vast array of features and complications ultimately dictate how the collecting community identifies a timepiece. There are many facets to consider beyond brand and origin. For our purposes, here at 10thWATCH, we’ll categorize watches for sale in four primary categories - The Diver, The Classic, The Flight, and The Homage. We’ll share more on what makes each category special soon.
