Cool Drawings of Watches and Ephemera

Up next in Cool Drawings or Watches and Ephemera, is a fantastic piece by Nick Mehendale - @nickmehendale. After I saw some of his art on his Instagram feed, Nick was gracious enough to deal with my badgering to try his hand at my beloved 5-minute Gallet Yachting Timer.
Many of you are already aware of what a vintage stopwatch fanatic I am. In case you need a refresher - HERE and HERE! Nick was not only able to capture the true feel for the stopper, but the colors, shadowing, and overall detail of the onion pusher and rope that came attached, is just incredible! Nick is a true artist, and I am lucky to have found him!
Check him out on IG and give him a follow! Also - STAY TUNED because he is working on another very special yacht timer for me that I cannot wait to share with you!

Check out this drawing by Lee Yuen-Rapati - @onehourwatch. He did this one for me back in 2020. This was my first Aquastar Regate Felsa 4000N. Lee is an absolute magician with his attention to detail. Look at the way he captures the light on the stainless steel case and the sunburst grey dial. Just incredible! From the NSA Aquastar bracelet links to the carefully colored pinkish-red countdown circles, Lee’s ability to capture the essence of a watch is amazing.
Lee’s work is just another reason why I love watch collecting. The watches are great but enhanced in so many other ways by the community. Check out Lee’s work through his Instagram feed. He’s done a ton of amazing collaborations and other works of art!

From time to time, we’ll share some of the amazing art we find or invest in from the collector community. We’ll add this to the blog and share info on the artists.
This first drawing is by one of my all-time favs, Bryan Braddy - @badartnicewatch. No one captures what “vintage” feels like quite like Bryan! Over the last several months, I’ve had Bryan draw a series of dive gauges, my blue-dialed OysterQuartz, and a Heuer branded Aquastar Regate for Eric Wind.
This Fahrenheit Aquastar thermometer is one of the cleanest examples in my collection. Bryan leaves no detail behind when you commission a piece from him. He always ensures he knows what you want the dial to read, how you want the item positioned, what strap and date (for watches), and many other thoughtful characteristics. He’s a true artist, and we appreciate his work immensely!
